In wake of school scandal, Piedmont superintendent blames media

Thursday, October 25, 2012

Officials at Piedmont High, who’ve decided not to pursue discipline against male athletes involved in a so-called “Fantasy Slut League” that tracked sex exploits with unknowing girls for points, now appear to be blaming media for the school’s abundant negative publicity.

From the Mercury News, quoting superintendent Connie Hubbard at last night’s school board meeting: “The media swirl the last few days began as an honest communication with parents. Viral voices sensationalized what the story was. We will not let this deter us.”
