Few pundits give Democrats much chance of retaking control of the House and thus give Nancy Pelosi another shot as Speaker, but that hasn’t slowed the Minority Leader’s whirlwind fundraising to try and make it happen. Her office claims she’s raised more than $72 million for Democrats this cycle, including $7.2 million in September alone.
And from the sounds of it she may also be nearing a record for the most rubber chicken dinners. In the five weeks before Election Day, she’s attended or plans to attend 65 fundraisers in eight states, Politico says.
