Port of Oakland executives’ strip club stories don’t square

The plot thickens at the Port of Oakland over that $4,500 tab at a Houston strip club four years ago. Until now, it’s been attributed to James Kwon, the suspended (with pay) maritime official who submitted it. But the Chronicle, citing an unnamed source, says that (also suspended) port executive director Omar Benjamin’s name (that’s him, pictured) was on the receipt and was redacted before records were made public. Benjamin reportedly says he has no recollection of having been there. Kwon, meanwhile, says not only was his boss there, but that Benjamin told him to pick up the tab. Chronicle
