So far little more than a touchy-feely response by school officials since news broke last Friday about a “fantasy slut league” involving male athletes at the affluent high school in which female students were unknowingly “drafted” and sex activities related to them were tracked and tallied for points. The principal sent a mass email Friday informing parents of the sex fantasy league, after determining that it has existed for at least five years as part of a “bonding” exercise.
Someone apparently blew the whistle on the “league” after an annual assembly on date rape prevention.
But principal Rich Kitchens told the Contra Costa Times that the school’s response will be on “education and understanding moving forward, not discipline for past activities.” Randall Booker, an assistant superintendent, pretty much echoed that line in a follow-up piece Sunday.
ABC 7’s report includes this observation:
Many parents said they were surprised to hear about the "fantasy slut league," but most didn't want to talk about it. They said Piedmont is a small town, and that is a very sensitive subject.
