Urban Update: San Francisco’s future tallest skyscraper

Friday, October 19, 2012

The proposed Transbay Tower at First and Mission streets calls for a 1,070 foot high building -- more than 200 feet taller than the Transamerica Pyramid, now San Francisco's tallest building. The top 150 feet are hollow. Photo: Pelli Clarke Pelli / SF

Transbay Tower, the 1,070-foot-tall, 61-story centerpiece of the future Transit Center District, at 101 First Street, received Planning Commission approval yesterday.
