Vandals go on rampage in Oakland, but no arrests*

Monday, October 8, 2012

Widespread vandalism in downtown Oakland last night on the 11th anniversary of the start of the war in Afghanistan, including smashed storefronts, shattered car windows and paint splattered here and there. But zero arrests. Not enough police to safely quell the vandalism. Chronicle

[In San Francisco, meanwhile, vandals paraded through the Financial District Saturday afternoon. Police arrested 20; 11 men and 9 women. Chronicle]
