A ‘speciman’?: SFGate goes tabloid on an AP story about David Petraeus

The story based on a speech last summer in which Paula Broadwell mentioned the general’s devotion to physical fitness as making him “quite a physical specimen” gets translated into something else as an SFGate front page headline tease. And we’re not talking about SFGate’s misspelling specimen, either:

Mistress: Petaeus a ‘speciman’

Gotta keep ‘em clicking, as they say. Once you do click through, SFGate’s story hed is much tamer: “Broadwell called Petraeus a ‘very close mentor’”
