By barest of margins, supervisors approve nudity ban

The vote was 6-5 to approve Supervisor Scott Wiener’s county law to ban exposed genitalia on all San Francisco sidewalks, plazas, parklets, streets and pubic transit. (But not at, say, Folsom Street Fair or during the annual gay pride celebration.) Assuming the law survives a second reading, and Mayor Ed Lee, who supports it, signs, it will take effect Feb. 1.

Which also means no more photos of activist Gypsy Taub (above, as captured by Jeff Chiu of AP) lecturing elected officials in her birthday suit. Chronicle
