Wilbur Bartley, 50, ran a successful cell phone store on International Boulevard that he named for his son, calling it Marcus Cellular. On Wednesday night, as he was closing up, he became Oakland’s 108th homicide victim this year after someone gunned him down during a robbery. Oakland Tribune, noting that he was a highly respected businessman known for lending those in need a helping hand, writes about it.
