Is the storm stand-up the dumbest cliché in TV news?

Thursday, November 1, 2012

Quick, try and think of something dumber. If not needlessly dangerous, it’s just plain silly-looking, and face it, more often than not, grandstanding. That’s CNN’s Ali Velshi, standing in the middle of an Atlantic City street during storm Sandy, as if we couldn’t see all that water if he weren’t there. An excerpt from what he tells Huffington Post:
I think the criticisms are well-intentioned and fair, and we will continue to evaluate how we do these things. We are all very interested in making sure we’re safe while doing the service we feel we need to be performing.
