Pol at the trough: George Shirakawa’s lavish spending

Saturday, November 17, 2012

The Mercury News flags Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors president George Shirakawa Jr. for lavish spending on the public dime, including dining out 180 times during the last four years “often in some of the region’s most exclusive restaurants.” On his list: $583 to play golf in Las Vegas, and flying first class across country. This from a politician who’s facing fines for missing campaign finance reports and who’s personally bankrupt.
