Warriors, Bogut acknowledge ankle not healed; he’ll stay on bench

Friday, November 9, 2012

Anyone who’s watched Andrew Bogut play knows that the Warriors’ designated star isn’t ready to be on the basketball court, coming off a broken ankle in January with the Bucks. After the heat they took for trading Monta Ellis and rolling the dice with the injury-prone big man, the Warriors regime obviously felt the need to put him out there anyway. Hard to build a media campaign around someone who’s not playing.

Now they’ve surrendered to reality. Bogut will be shelved for “seven to 10 days” or however long it takes—three weeks? six weeks?—to let the ankle heal. Here we go again. Chronicle; Mercury News
