When will Bay Area media outlets stop hyping the rain?

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

That “river of rain” that was supposed to total up to 5 inches in parts of the Bay Area and that TV weather people and newspaper headline writers had such fun with—didn’t happen. Today's rainfall totals: an inch in Santa Rosa, 1/3 of an inch in downtown San Francisco, and so little in San Jose that people actually complained about it.

But forecasters are sticking by their guns. A Chronicle piece warns of “worried merchants and homeowners across the region” bracing for “the second and third round of this week’s belligerent storms.”
