That “river of rain” that was supposed to total up to 5 inches in parts of the Bay Area and that TV weather people and newspaper headline writers had such fun with—didn’t happen. Today's rainfall totals: an inch in Santa Rosa, 1/3 of an inch in downtown San Francisco, and so little in San Jose that people actually complained about it.
