Parts of Alameda County (within Oakland?) may seem like a war zone, but the sheriff’s department insists that an agenda item placed before supervisors today requesting approval to buy a drone was—ready for this?—an “oversight.” The ACLU accused the
Pentagon department of trying to spring for an unmanned aerial craft in secret, something it denied, says Steven Tavares at East Bay Citizen. If it hasn’t crashed already, the drone idea will at least now be vetted before a supervisorial committee.
