The 49ers “suspended” little-used high profile running back acquisition Brandon Jacobs for the rest of the regular season after he ticked off coach Jim Harbaugh for tweeting that he was “rotting away” on the Niners’ bench. He could have been released instead but Harbaugh/the 49ers decided to suspend (that is, stick it to him), meaning no other team (like his old New York Giants, who are thin at running back) can pick him up.
