‘Historic’ graffiti from Native American occupation restored to Alcatraz

The political graffiti painted on the water tower at Alcatraz during the Native American occupation of the island four decades ago got covered over when the National Park Service repainted the tower a while back. Now, just as it planned all along, the park service has re-painted it, as it was. Marin IJ writes about it.
