Hockey fans gobble up all 17,562 free tickets to see Bulls at H-P Pavilion

Thursday, December 13, 2012

How ravenous are Bay Area hockey fans as the NHL lockout muddles on? Every last ticket to Monday night’s minor league game between the San Francisco Bulls and Stockton Thunder at the home of the idled Sharks is gone. The last 3,400 seats were snapped up in less than five minutes yesterday, the Mercury News says.

The Bulls, who ordinarily play at the Cow Palace, are the Sharks’ new affiliate team in the East Coast Hockey League. And—pinch yourself for this one—for Monday's game even the parking is free. Not a bad brand-building gimmick, I’d say.
