It happened Wednesday night outside Oakland’s Edna Brewer Middle School on Excelsior Avenue. The Oakland Tribune, which doesn’t name the KRON 4 reporter, says that while $9,000 worth of the station’s equipment was lifted from a parked and locked company vehicle, the reporter was inside listening to Mayor Jean Quan and police officials talking about, you guessed it, crime.
By my count, that’s the ninth reported crime committed against a working journalist in Oakland in recent months.
