Next round in campaign against Ross Mirkarimi—a petition asks him to resign

Thursday, December 13, 2012

In the aftermath of his domestic violence saga, the political ground war against Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi continues. A group headed by Status of Women commissioner Andrea Shorter is promoting a petition urging the sheriff to resign. Fat chance of that, but it could presage a recall effort.

Shorter earlier helped spearhead a campaign by angel investor and mayoral influencer Ron Conway to defeat former supervisor Christina Olague after Olague bucked the mayor and voted to keep Mirkarimi in office. Marisa Lagos at the Chronicle writes about it.
