The suspense over whether the High Court would take up the legal challenge to Prop 8, the state’s ban on same sex marriage, is over. It will, it was announced this morning. The justices also agreed to review a federal appeals court ruling finding the federal Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional. Rulings by the end of session next June. Mercury News; LA Times
