The veteran news director will step down on Jan. 18 after 10 years at the helm. No official word on what he’ll be doing next or on the reason for his departure. KTVU 2 continues as the over-all ratings leader for news among Bay Area stations, but blogger Rich Lieberman posts that less-than-accustomed numbers in its early evening news blocks and declining staff morale may have been behind his exit.
