George Snyder, journo and conservationist was 68

The former Chronicle North Bay reporter and committed conservationist died Thursday after a long struggle with pancreatic cancer. He was 68. He worked at the Chronicle for 25 years and later for the Modesto Bee and the Sonoma West Times and News. He’d also served on the Sonoma County Fish and Wildlife Commission and last year was honored by the county for his conservation efforts. Obituary: Chronicle
