Golden Gate Bridge without toll takers—the countdown begins

A precursor today of what’s to come starting at the end of March: toll takers are to disappear from the Golden Gate Bridge. The bridge authority began testing an all-electric tolling system in preparation for the big day, when, for the first time since the bridge opened in 1937, there will no humans collecting your money.
