Latest turn in the unending rumor mill about the future of the Sacramento Kings: deep-pocketed investors are said to be proposing to buy the team and build a $400 million arena on the site of the Downtown Plaza shopping center site. The Sac Bee calls it a “dramatic turn.”
Of course the story of the Kings and their zany owners, the Maloof brothers (that’s three of them pictured), is a study in dramatic turns. Within a span of months, the Kings have been rumored to be heading to Anaheim, Seattle, Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Seattle again. So might want to take this one for entertainment value until proven otherwise.
