Marin beach landmark collapses; photographer is there to capture it

The arch, before the rockslide.

Robert Wills, a student at Caltech in Pasadena, took these photos at Marin County’s Tennessee Beach Dec. 29, the day the natural arch at Tennessee Cove tumbled down after heavy rains. Wills was taking pictures of the surf (with the arch in the background, above) when the landmark landform gave way. “I witnessed a spectacular event,” he writes at his blog, where there are lots more photos. Below, how it looked after the collapse. Marin IJ has a story.
