Marin district attorney Ed Berberian decided to launch a $40,000 gun buyback program after last month’s Sandy Hook school massacre in Connecticut and timed it to coincide with yesterday’s anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birth. Result? So many guns were traded for cash that all five buyback stations ran out of money by early afternoon. They handed out vouchers instead. Marin IJ
