Michael Cronan, brand name creator was 61

The graphic designer and marketing executive whose brand-name creations include TiVo and Amazon’s Kindle, has died at his home in Berkeley. He was 61 and died on New Year’s Day of colon cancer, according to his wife, Karin Hibma, with whom he founded the marketing firm Cronan in the early 1980s. Obituaries: NYT, Chronicle
