The 49ers wide receiver won’t be charged in connection with the W Hotel incident in the wee hours of Jan. 13 in which a woman accused him of rape. DA George Gascon issued a statement to that effect Friday. The 49ers also issued a statement saying the team was glad to put the matter behind them.
Two other women in the hotel room with Crabtree that night said he didn’t assault anyone, according to what an anonymous police source leaked to Matier & Ross earlier in the week. Here’s assuming the two women weren’t Crabtree’s grandma and aunt. Get the feeling that this story about an athlete getting ready for the Super Bowl has been more “handled” than reported?
