And now some news from fifth grade. Rose Pak is mad at Mayor Ed Lee. He’s thinking of appointing Susan Loftus to Carmen Chu’s supervisor seat if, as expected, the mayor names Chu to replace Phil Ting as city assessor. Pak doesn’t want Loftus; she wanted her friend Malcolm Yeung, until he withdrew from consideration. Now Pak has no one. Her quote, as overheard (on the schoolyard?) by the Chronicle: “Who wants to have the seat, if it means having to carry the mayor’s water all the time?”
