Stanley Karnow, chronicler of the Vietnam War was 87

The journalist and historian who tirelessly covered the Vietnam War for several publications and went on to write “Vietnam: A History,” from which an epic 13-part PBS documentary was spun, has died. His death occurred Sunday at his home in Potomac, Md. He was 87. NYT
