The governor gives his State of the State address this morning and regardless of what he says it will serve as yet another reminder of how irrelevant California’s Republican Party has become. His most notable political concern, says Steve Harmon in an advancer on the speech for the Mercury News: “restless Democratic lawmakers—fresh off winning two-thirds majorities in both chambers of the Legislature—who consider themselves equal partners in a brand new era of political dominance.”
