49ers resentment in San Francisco is just a surface scratch away

What a strange juxtaposition: Just when the 49ers are coming off their first Super Bowl in 18 years fans in San Francisco are angrier than ever at them . . . for abandoning the city, and with one last season to go at Candlestick. The Chronicle’s Ann Killion takes note after she gets a ton of feedback over who’s more popular, the Giants or Niners.

One odd factoid that’s gotten short shrift in local media, and which she mentions: the Bay Area media market ranked 28th out of 56 markets nationally in Super Bowl viewership. Chronicle
