Burglars use newspaper’s vacation hold list to target CoCo Times readers

As if newspaper subscribers didn’t have reason enough to let go: Police are trying to figure out how a vacation hold list for subscribers to the Contra Costa Times ended up in the hands of suspected burglars who used it to target homes while residents were away. (CoCo Times is published as an edition of the Mercury News.) The Merc says it is also conducting its own investigation.
