Cal will pay Jeff Tedford $5.5 million to settle contract

Tuesday, February 5, 2013

Cal has agreed to pay fired football coach Jeff Tedford $5.5 million to settle what it owes him through 2015. Under his contract, he was owed $6.9 million. But the school, which hasn’t yet disclosed the terms of its contract with new head coach Sonny Dykes, could catch a break if Tedford ends up coaching somewhere else. If that happens, he’ll share evenly any amount he makes above $1.5 million through 2015. Mercury News
