Now here’s something that doesn’t happen often around here. A camel that escaped its enclosure in the hills between Concord and Pittsburg was struck by a minivan Tuesday night. The good news: he’s OK. The 10-year-old camel, named Rudy, was walking on Bailey Road when the accident occurred. Mercury News has a story and slide show, including the photo above of Rudy being helped into a cattle trailer.
