They’re circling the wagons at Cal after coach Mike Montgomery’s infamous shove of swingman Allen Crabbe during Sunday night’s win over USC. Montgomery’s ill-tempered move has embarrassed the Cal program, made the ESPN video loop, and drawn reprimands from athletics director Sandy Barbour and the Pac-12 commissioner. It’s also drawn a call for at least a one-game suspension from state senator (and Cal alum) Leland Yee. But the only person who matters, Barbour, apparently plans no further action. She texted the Chronicle’s John Crumpacker, “We’ve issued our comments on the matter.”
