How Barbara Lee spent her day yesterday—‘squatting’ in House

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

The Oakland congresswoman had the dubious distinction of being among the first “squatters” in the House chamber for President Obama’s State of the Union speech last night. (That’s the practice of showing up early to save a seat along an aisle for the purpose of getting a handshake and maybe 5 seconds of face time with the President as he passes by.) Lee showed up . . . get this?  . . . 8 hours early to camp out on the center aisle. Political Blotter
