For the first time ever, a leg of the Amgen Tour of California will snake all the way to the top of 3,849-foot Mount Diablo. And while that has cycling fans excited, it’s raising some tough logistical issues. State parks officials say no cars will be permitted past the junction ranger station, 4.6 miles from the summit, for the May 18 leg. And although camp sites further up the mountain were snapped up weeks ago, officials say they may have to cancel some reservations and re-allocate them to race personnel.
