KTVU’s Rita Williams signs off after a 35-year run

The no-nonsense veteran reporter whose career spanned four decades with the station announced last June she would retire this month. Last night, she signed off for the final time. She tells The Argus, the newspaper that serves the Portolo Valley community where she lives, that her boss chose the date because it coincided with the end of a ratings period. The station’s “Mornings on 2” program aired an interview with her last week.
