Restaurateur says he was tired of ‘babysitting’ at Marina eatery

Friday, February 8, 2013

Andrew McCormick, the son of seafood restaurant chain McCormick & Schmick’s co-founder Bill McCormick, is opening a new restaurant in Lafayette this summer. It’s to be an American style bar & grill called The Cooperage. And he tells Diablo magazine that he has no regrets about selling City Tavern, the restaurant he founded in the Marina, back in November:

"I'm 43 years old; I opened City Tavern when I was 25, and the kids going there are still 25, so you kind of get tired of babysitting.”
