The Warriors are revamping the design of their proposed $1 billion waterfront arena at Piers 30-32 to accommodate labor unions and others who want to preserve the north side of the property as a potential cruise ship berth. (That’s the latest rendering from the Warriors, above.) That means moving the arena away from the eastern edge of the property, which in turn means shrinking something else (retail space?) if the team is to keep its commitment to preserve at least half the site as public open space. Bottom line: financing is delayed, but the Warriors insist it won’t interfere with plans to build the arena by 2017. Chronicle
