Sad news from the small corner of radio outside the vast wasteland: NPR is ending “Talk of the Nation” hosted by Neal Conan (pictured) and a staple of its Monday to Thursday mid-day programming, this summer. It will be replaced by “Here & Now,” produced at Boston’s WBUR, with its host Robin Young gaining a co-host in Jeremy Hobson of “Marketplace Morning Report.” NYT writes about it.
