Cal hangs on to beat UNLV in its NCAA opener

Thursday, March 21, 2013

Lots of suspense at the end with Cal missing five of six free throws in the last 40 seconds, but the 12th-seeded Golden Bears hang on to upend 5th-seeded UNLV 64-61 before a friendly sellout crowd at San Jose’s H-P Pavilion. The Bears (21-11) move on to play Syracuse Saturday. Mercury News; CBS Sports
