Even when the Chronicle writes something halfway serious about Dede Wilsey, as it does today in a catch-up piece by freelancer Jesse Hamlin, it runs a file photo of her modeling an Oscar de la Renta on opening night at the opera. (The pic above is not it; it’s from another opera opening, in 2002, and from the New York Times.) The socialite and board president at the Fine Arts Museums has been taking it on the chin lately amid criticisms that the Legion of Honor and the De Young are in disarray, including an unflattering piece in the NYT.
