Columbia Journalism Review has a new correspondent for California and Nevada who’ll be familiar to journos and others in San Francisco. He’s veteran editor and reporter John Mecklin, who had a distinguished run as editor in chief at SF Weekly from 1997 to 2005. A memo from Mecklin says he’ll be posting a couple of times a month about politics and policy, “with special focus on the use of rhetoric and money to influence the policy discussion, and an emphasis on the ongoing debate about the fiscal future of the nation.”
