The former Roman Catholic priest, 77, had been in custody since his extradition from Alameda to Ireland in June, 2011, for sexually molesting boys in Ireland in the 1970s and 1980s. Today a judge handed down a sentence of 18 months, with credit for time served, allowing him to go free.
McCabe worked in churches throughout the Santa Rosa Diocese from 1983 to 1987 before being defrocked.
