Opening night at the Bay Bridge—light display turns on Tuesday

Monday, March 4, 2013

bay_lights1.jpgMight want to jot down 8:30 Tuesday night. That’s when artist Leo Villareal will flip the switch to the 25,000 programmable LED lights on the Bay Bridge to officially begin the most anticipated ongoing public arts display since . . . Christo's "Running Fence" in Marin 40 years ago?

The Chronicle’s Michael Cabanatuan says Villareal spent the weekend fine-tuning things.
