Russians return to Fort Ross—to make a movie

Thursday, March 7, 2013

A Russian film crew has just wrapped up four days of shooting at Fort Ross State Historic Park on the Sonoma Coast (built in the early 1800s to protect a Tsarist fur-trading base) for a feature film to be called . . . “Fort Ross.” It’s being described as a science fiction-historical fantasy and, the Chronicle says:

The movie features time travel, pirates, revolution, intrigue, Indian attacks, romance, a beautiful heroine in a miniskirt, a magical iPhone, Mission San Rafael, Czar Nicolas I, the Russian marine corps and the Golden Gate Bridge.
