Playing its second NCAA tournament game in less than 48 hours, Saint Mary’s came up just short this afternoon, losing to Memphis 54-52 in the Midwest Regional at Auburn Hills, Michigan. The 11th-seeded Gaels, who finished the season 28-7, sank a three-pointer in the waning seconds, then had a final chance with 1.9 seconds left when Memphis (31-4, 6th seed) lost the ball on the inbounds play. But star senior guard Matthew Dellavedova’s three-pointer for the win at the buzzer sailed long. CBS Sports has the recap and video of the final 10 seconds.
