Stanford, Cal women in NCAA—and could face each other

A little NCAA tournament intrigue pitting the two Bay Area women’s teams selected. If things go as expected, Stanford and Cal, seeded one and two in the West, respectively, could end up facing each other in Spokane for a chance to reach the Final Four. Stanford (31-2) opens Sunday against Tulsa at Maples Pavilion. Cal’s (28-3) Sunday opener is in Lubbock, Texas against Fresno State. Mercury News
